This video was done to demonstrate some problems and solutions to the challenges in painting Shadows in a busy street scene. I will address common problems the watercolorist faces while working in Plein Air . Some of these are - what makes a good subject, how to work with shadows and changing light, architecture, simplifying complexity, and more... In each video I will address some of the challenges with working on site as well a specific challenges in design and watercolor technique. Along the way I hope you experience the same thrill of working under an open sky that we did. In this video I take on the subject of depth and illustrate a few ways to create depth through perspective and through repeated shapes. The scene is complex and unusual - adding to the enjoyment..
