And lies lead to lies like light to flies, You’re left at rock bottom with no walls left to climb, Your sparks catch fire and they burn us all alive, Yet this is somehow safer than if we’d never caught alight. Skin and bone wrapped around the fear of waking up alone, Sticks and stones, and makeshift thrones. When what’s left of me is a shell and an apology, At least I’ll still know that I’m not alone, The difference in us lies in how there’s no-one, shoulder high, to bring you home.
