January Update - Overnight visitors, installing cat spikes and a quick look inside the nestbox!

Hello everyone and welcome to the first video of 2022. Some of you may have had a look at the livestream and seen that we've had an overnight visitor staying with us for a few nights. You may have also seen that they were disturbed by a cat. Measures have been taken and the box now resembles a metal porcupine in order to try to keep the cats away from the box. This should also stop larger birds such as Magpies and Wood Pigeons from hanging out on the top of the box as well. Rest assured the birds are doing fine and are regularly seen around the garden and on the feeders. They still pop into the box a few times a day so we'll see if one of them starts roosting again. We don't expect any nesting behaviour for a little while yet but it'll be interesting to see if the box gets used again this year now it looks like something from Mad Max!
