Ukrainian kamikaze sea drone attacks Russian warship at Novorossiysk naval base

A Ukrainian drone attacked and damaged a Russian warship at the Black Sea naval base in Novorossiysk, a Ukrainian official said on Friday, August 4. Video that appeared on social media on Friday showed a surface drone approaching and impacting a ship, identified as the Russian Navy’s Ropucha-class landing ship Olenegorsky Gornyak. The video was reposted by Anton Gerashchenko, a former deputy interior minister and current advisor to the Ministry of Interior Affairs, who said it was provided to him by “sources.” Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense said Ukrainian forces had attempted to attack the base with two unmanned sea boats, which were both destroyed in the harbor.
