Lavender Harvest (1958)

Hunstanton, Norfolk. L/S of a group of people picking lavender in a field. M/S of a woman cutting the lavender with a knife and a young girl picking it. M/S of a group of children picking. Various shots of adults and children picking the lavender and putting it in bins. M/S as two women carry the bins across to women waiting with sacks, M/S as they pour the lavender into the sacks. Various shots as a man throws the sacks up onto a cart. M/S as he gets on the tractor pulling the cart and drives off, M/S as it drives towards the camera. Interior - two men use a pitchfork to move the lavender into a big still. Various shots as the lavender is transferred to the still, a man is stood on top stamping it down. M/S as they lower the lid onto it when it is full, M/S as they lock the lid. M/S as Arthur Smalls turns the pressure gauge and writes with chalk on a big cylinder. C/U of the lavender oil running from the still into a clear container. M/S as Arthur syphons it off into a flask. C/U of the la
