#howtorunfastermarathontimes #marathontraining I often get asked get asked how to run faster marathon times and my answer is usually the same, practice your goal race pace. Easier said than done right? I certainly wish there was an easy way to run the marathon without much effort but that is not the case. You need to focus on whatever goal race time you have in mind and train at paces that far exceed the effort. In addition, you want race pace to feel moderate and less demanding. Train at paces that are closer to your 3K to 10K race pace efforts, focus on improving your hydration practices and speed up your long runs. Don’t run long, slow long runs every weekend. Alternate running at 160 beats per minute or about 85% of your maximum heart rate every other week. That being said, don’t just jump into this type of effort as you will get discouraged quickly because you are not fit yet. Be patient with yours.
