In this video, I explore a question that hasn't been addressed in most PC fan reviews: does fan performance on a radiator, which is how fans are typically tested, translate to fan performance on a heatsink. In other words, should we be looking for the best “PC Cooler Fan“, or do we need to dig deeper to name the best “PC Radiator Fan“ and “PC Heatsink Fan“? To test the theory, I use the Noctua NF-A12x25 and NF-A14/A15 on both the Noctua NH-D15 heatsink and the Deepcool Castle 280EX liquid cooler. This is a follow-up to my series of videos showing that cooler fans and case fans are most definitely not the same thing, despite most YouTubers recommending a single fan for everything (typically the NF-A12x25).
