There are cemeteries full of living people in the Philippines. That may shock you, but people sleep, eat on tombs and in mausoleums – the graveyard is their home. Many say they are happy to live here, after all, the place enables them to earn money, as the owners pay for maintaining their relatives’ graves. Locals are ready to take any job even if it presents deadly risks, such as, for example, gold mining. To extract the precious metal, miners dive into a mud-filled shaft, sometimes never to come back.
