Uploaded By ► Red Grey Matter ''Enjoy Your Day'' Album Flame Still Burns The 10th CD release, Flame Still Burns, came during the middle of the COVID 19 Pandemic. Can you say; ‘Murphy’s Law’?? We knew we had to make a stand for the positive!!! I’d been asked over the years if I would try an ‘all-covers album, I thought long and hard about it and felt that it had finally come to the right time and place for it. So, my manager, TC Davis, and I sat down with dozens of contenders, and over some weeks, whittled it down to a ‘do-able’ size of 14 cuts. Also, during this time, I received a nomination for a BMA award, in the Contemporary Blues Female Artist category, and am honored to be asked to do a streaming vid on the June, 6th broadcast show! We’ve been sequestered and afraid for a long time, but we must keep going, and being positive is one way to survive all this. Please stay safe and well out there, till I see all of you again!!! I have high hopes it’ll turn around soon…. The boys in my band are amazing, as always; Tom DelRossi, John Marcus, Kenne Cramer, Tommy Stillwell, Eric Robert, and Kevin McKendree, Love you guys, thank you for always being there!!!!! Shaun Murphy and Eric Clapton My good friend and former bandmate Marcy Levy (Marcella Detroit) called me to say that Clapton was looking for another strong voice to do his new album, Behind The Sun, and she thought of me right away. I got spirited away to the island of Montserrat where Eric was recording with producer Phil Collins, at George Martin’s (best known for his work with the Beatles and many other artists) studio. After the first song, Eric asked us if we’d go on tour to support the new album. I was thrilled, EC has always been one of my favorite artists. Along with Chris Stainton, the incredible Duck Dunn, Jamie Oldaker, Tim Renwich, Marcy and myself……what a great group of folks, what fantastic times!
