It is an adaptation of the 1891 Oscar Wilde play of the same name, written by Natacha Rambova, credited as Peter M. Winters. The costumes and sets were designed by Natacha Rambova, based on illustrations by Aubrey Beardsley. Rambova was the wife of actor Rudolph Valentino. Plot: King Herod's stepdaughter Salome seduces him with a dance and is promised the head of the prophet John the Baptist.
