Golden Earring (tot in 1969 The Golden Earrings) is een Nederlandse grootste rockband. De groep werd opgericht in 1961 en is daarmee (samen met de ook in 1961 opgerichte band Bintangs) de oudste nog bestaande rockband van Nederland en een van de langst bestaande bands ter wereld. Golden Earring heeft internationaal succes gehad met hun hits Radar Love, Twilight Zone en When the Lady Smiles, en hun albums Moontan en Cut. De band heeft wereldwijd miljoenen albums verkocht en genoot in de jaren zeventig en tachtig van de twintigste eeuw een internationale sterrenstatus, met name in de Verenigde Staten. Golden Earring neemt een dominante positie in de Nederlandse muziekwereld in, met meer dan dertig gouden en platina albums. 'Back Home' is Golden Earrings 14e Top 40 hit en hun 2e no. 1 single in de Top 40. Deze opname werd door Toppop gemaaktin de Scheveningse duinen en voor het eerst uitgezonden in de 2e uitzending ooit van Toppop op 29 september 1970.
