December 1980 - January 1982 This video covers the most sporadically documented period in terms of available footage. The WWWA Singles Title was vacated after the Jackie Sato vs. Monster Ripper title match on 8/8/80 went to a no contest (unfortunately the episode covering this show is missing); so we start off with the conclusion of the single-elimination tournament for the vacated title. Also, a new tertiary title was created called the ’AJW Championship’, the inaugural champion being Rimi Yokota who won the title on 12/15/80. Here is brief intro to the new roster members appearing in the video, in rough order of their debut. 1. Tomoko Kitamura - Debut 1980. The best pure athlete of the class of 1980 and winner of the 1980 Rookie of the Year Tournament. Tomoko has made a name for herself backstage with her string of dominant victories in shoot wrestling contests, and has already declared her ambition to be WWWA Singles Champion one day. She is a member of Dynamic Jaguars. 2. Yukari Omori - Debut 1980. The runner up of the 1980 Rookie of the Year Tournament. She doesn’t have the speed of Kitamura but makes up for it by using her size and strength to bludgeon opponents. Seems to be affiliated with Dynamic Jaguars. 3. Hiroe Ito - Debut 1980. Only made a couple of TV appearances in 1980 that we know, including losing to Tomoko Kitamura in the Rookie of the Year tournament. She has since joined Black Devils and is #4 in the group. 4. Chigusa Nagayo - Debut 1980. Even more obscure than Hiroe Itoe as she apparently has only had a handful of matches (even including untelevised bouts) due to some kind of family issues pulling her out of wrestling. She appears to be affiliated with the Red Phoenix unit. 5. Noriyo Tateno - Debut 1981. A top high school athlete who dropped out at the age of 15 to go straight to AJW knowing that it’s what she wanted to do with her life. She’s not much more than a punching bag at this point, but has been taken under the wing of Rimi Yokota. Here are the contents of the video with timestamps. I can’t provide this without some slight spoilers, so if you wanna watch without major clues on how things unfold, maybe just don’t read it :) 1.
