Warsaw (Warszawa in Polish, 2023 Warschau in German) is the capital and the biggest city of Poland. The River Vistula runs through the historic city centre which was completely destroyed during the Second World War by Nazi forces. After the war the historic city centre was beautifuly restored and the old town was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
