L. #Beethoven - #Symphony no. 1 in C Major #classicalmusic Symphony No. 1 in C major, op. 21 (Bia. 203) is a composition by Ludwig van Beethoven dedicated to Baron Gottfried van Swieten. The symphony was written by Beethoven in 1799-1800 and premiered on April 2, 1800 in Vienna, at the Imperial Burgtheater, under the direction of Paul Vranitzky. A few months later the symphony was performed in Leipzig. In the same place, in 1801, it was published by the printing house of Hoffmeister and Küchnel. Beethoven dedicated the symphony to Baron Gottfried van Swieten, director of the imperial library and a major patron of the arts, friendly, at one time, with Mozart and Haydn. It is worth noting that a number of rough drafts of the finale of the symphony date back to the spring of 1795, when Beethoven studied counterpoint with Albrechtsberger. For the first time in Russia, the symphony was performed in 1863 in Moscow. --------------------------------------------- If you need help finding sheet m
