Margaret Brown was born in Cincinnatti, Ohio in 1938. She grew up under challenging circumstances as her parents ran a local brother in the town and Margaret was able to see the cold, harsh realities of the real world at a young age. By the time she was in her teens, she became a number runner for a local criminal organization. Her passion for music began while running numbers for local club owners and was discovered by a talen scout one night while performing at an open mic night. Her hit single “B*tch Better Have My Money“ is loosely based on her own personal life experience and quickly became a hit single during the late 1960s.
