Portrait of a prominent Dutch National Socialist before and during WW2. Documentary about the leader of the fascist party in The Netherlands, from 1931 till 1945. This architect called Anton Mussert was shot in 1946 after having been convicted for high treason and aiding the enemy. Because of many discussion around the controversial nature of this documentary, the first showing on television was delayed for two years. Anton Adriaan Mussert (11 May 1894, Werkendam, North Brabant – 7 May 1946) was one of the founders of the National Socialist Movement in the Netherlands (NSB) and its formal leader. As such, he was the most prominent national socialist in the Netherlands before and during World War II. During the war, he was able to keep this position, due to the support he received from the Germans. After the war, he was convicted and executed for high treason.
