Florida's Military Aid For Israel, Governor DeSantis Using Emergency Powers For Political Goals

Two cargo planes chartered by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to carry supplies into Israel also contained drones, body armour and helmets, CNN reported. The equipment was sent on October 17 after the Israeli government procured the gear and asked the state of Florida for help transporting it overseas DeSantis’s office previously said the cargo flights carried “medical supplies, clothing items, hygiene products and children’s toys”. These aids had been donated to help Israel in the aftermath of the attack by Hamas on October 7. However, DeSantis’s office did not mention that the state was also carrying equipment for Israel that could be used in response to the war effort. The equipment supply was confirmed by the governor’s office to CNN on October 26.
