Farmers protest outside Rome's Colosseum

Rome's Colosseum has become the latest battleground for a clash between farmers and the government. Italian farmers had planned the rally to protest against EU climate change policies which they believe will affect their livelihoods. A convoy of tractors, escorted by police, staged a protest by the historic landmark. The farmers demanded action from authorities on low produce prices and rising costs. Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni responded by saying the government will partially reintroduce a tax break for farmers.
