The former high school teacher had been living as a fugitive in a village in Scotland for two years, where he gave meditations under a false identity. He had published video clips on networks such as YouTube, Rumble or Odysee, in which he disputed the existence of the gas chambers. The Scottish judge, who granted the extradition, underlined the seriousness of the phenomenon of fake news on the internet and social media. Since 1990, France has had a law that punishes with imprisonment the dispute of the official version of history, and Reynouard has been under it since 1991. Among other things, he was accused of giving students to solve equations while teaching mathematics at a high school about the death rate in the Nazi camps, relative to the time frame. Over the past two decades, he has received successive sentences for challenging crimes against humanity and trivializing war crimes.
