The term “Boson“ is named after the Bengali Physicist Satyendra Nath Bose who made important contributions to the field of quantum physics in early 1920s, providing the foundation for Bose--Einstein statistics and the theory of the Bose--Einstein condensate. In 1921, he joined as Principal Lecturer at Department of Physics, Dhaka University. He was also the Dean of the Faculty of Science at Dhaka University-Bangladesh until 1945. More details:
