Johnny Depp, the controversial Hollywood star who has faced a series of legal battles and career setbacks in recent years, made a triumphant return to the spotlight at the Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday. The actor received a warm welcome from fans and critics alike as he attended the premiere of his new film, “Jeanne du Barry”, in which he plays Louis XIII, the king of France who falls in love with a fiery courtesan played by French actress and director Maïwenn.
