If you're one of the rare souls who decides to take a trip to Guyana, the least visited country in the Americas, chances are your first stop will be Georgetown, the capital city. With a population of only around 200,000, it looks and feels almost like a small town. But this city is no joke. With the newfound oil wealth driving prices up, crime is starting to skyrocket. Although everyone in Guyana suffers from theft, American oil workers and Chinese merchants in particular are hunted in the streets by muggers. I was no oil worker, but I was assumed to be one. -------- Instagram: tommyelforastero Patreon: #sabbatical #guyana #southamerica
