SNOWSTORM (Part 2)

Last week I published Part 1 of “Snowstorm” (or “The Blizzard“ in Russian: Метель). Here is Part two, the second film clip from the 1964 Soviet film directed by Vladimir Basov, based on the second of five short stories from The Tales of the Late Ivan Petrovich Belkin by Alexander Pushkin. The manuscript for the story was originally completed October 20, 1830 and it was intended to be the last of The Tales of the Late Ivan Petrovich Belkin to be published, but Pushkin decided to push the story to the front of the volume. The novella, so comical and yet so dramatic, is considered one of the masterpieces of Russian literature. Georgi Sviridov wrote the film's score and later modified the soundtrack into a musical suite of the same name. Bel Air Music's own recordings of the Romance and the Waltz are here replacing the original soundtracks.
