My initial design for the roadster's TFT cluster, Using a similar design language to compliment my roadster's TFT Touchscreen project. (second JDM inspired design here: ) Using the primary speedo position to show both speed and RPM, along with clearly legible font sizes for critical info. I've implemented sequential indicators within the cluster (complimenting the exterior full sequential indicators), and utilised the existing odometer reset button with a rotary encoder switch. Each click from it's rotation adjusts the cluster brightness, (along side with being electrically dimmed via headlights). Pressing the switch also resets the total trip meter. The rotary encoder fits perfectly in the bezel, sitting ahead of the screen and capped off with a black adjustment knob with a chrome ring, complimenting the OEM cluster bezel neatly. Trip meter, day trip meter and odometer values are stored in eeprom, and count km fully independent of each other. The lower centre display i need to figure out what to put there, the size is small so it can only be basic instrumentation, may likely go with cabin temp/exterior temp displays The left hand side will need revision with additional graphics and stylising but as it stands is functional and legible at a standard seating position. The LCD has a surprisingly wide viewing angle both horizontally and vertically, much more so then the 7“ screen im using for my touch controller.
