First time ever Modern Tahtib Tournament

If the 1st football championship took place in URUGUAY on July 13th 1930, the first time ever Modern Tahtib (MT) Tournament took place in Paris on May 14th, 2017 hosted by the mayor of Paris (5th) and sports authorities, then in Cairo on July 1st, 2017. A MT Tournament is of 4 CUPS, The TEAM Cup is given to the higher combined rating of the four cups. The Tournament starts with all competing teams playing together the UNIVERSE Form, and ends with anchoring steps played with the audience. Seven teams in competition: Montsouris, Ortolan, Paris Sud, Garde Republicaine, AS UPMC, MT Normandie, FANS MT. WHAT ARE THE FOUR CUPS? 1. The CODIFIED JOUST Cup is played by two jousters of the same team. The joust frame is inspired by one of the ABOUSIR engravings (-2600 B.C.) or by one of the Modern Tahtib eight forms, in this video they are playing the NAKHLA form. The four judges assess the authenticity of the attacks, power & control also the sync between the jousters. 2. The TASHKILA ( form) Cup is played by a team of a minimum of 2-8 members. The team selects one of the eight MT forms and plays it in any preferred configuration. The jury members assess the authenticity of the attacks, Power & Control, team sync, stance and speed, warrior attitude. 3. The 360° COMBAT Cup is a combat played by more than one attackers vs one defender. The four judges assess the authenticity of the attacks, power & control also the skills of the defender. The defender objective is to end the 360° combat with attack in the attackers' attacks. 4. The FREE JOUST Cup is played by two opponents form different teams. An eliminatory stage takesplace prior to the finals. The winner is the one who has : a. Grazed the other’s head (without touching) b. Made 2 consecutive hits at 2 different body spots on the opponent’s body c. Touched 3 times the opponent’s body d. Made the other’s stick fall e. Made the other go out of the field. The teams have been trained according to the Modern Tahtib principles and rules, ref to the MODERN TAHTIB BOOK available at AMAZON and at the EDITOR, and ref to the Tournaments rules available in arabic, french and english.
