In our first feature-length presentation, we’ll be spending time watching trains on Saluda Grade in the early 1990s through the lens of railfan and model railroader, Ed Painter. Over a period of 7 years, beginning in early 1990 and ending in the winter of 1997, Painter spent a significant amount of time documenting Norfolk Southern trains on the steepest mainline railroad grade in the United States.
