Last week Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stood before the US Congress in Washington, and put the regime in Iran and its proxy fighters, Hezbollah and Hamas, on notice. It wasn't a declaration of war but it was as close at it gets. The word ceasefire was not uttered even once. Since then, two men, a Hezbollah commander and the political leader of Hamas, have been killed. Iran is blaming Israel and vowing revenge. The US today said it had no knowledge and no involvement in the killings. How is that possible? Tonight, America's influence over Israel looks mighty weak.
