At Çubuk, the capital city of a northeastern county of Ankara province, which is a MHP & AKP stronghold of Turkey’s Panturanists and Islamists, the local mob attacked the Kemalist leader of the opposition (CHP) Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. The assault was undertaken not by Erdogan’s Islamists but by Devlet Bahçeli’s Panturanists, who resumed power after the failed coup of July 2016 and have used Erdogan as a puppet ever since. Angered because of the defeat of the Islamist – Panturanist alliance in the recent local elections, the local group of MHP Panturanists awaited Kılıçdaroğlu to attack him. It had been announced that the leader of the opposition would attend the funeral ceremony of Yener Kırıkcı, a Turkish soldier originating from Çubuk, who was killed in a PKK terrorist attack in SE Turkey. It is a very common political act for all Turkish politicians and statesmen to attend the funerals of soldiers killed in SE Turkey, Syria and Iraq.
