In this video we are playing the demo for the story-driven Action RPG Drake that currently has a demo available on steam for Next Fest. (Link at bottom) Drake has a lot in common with a lot of different genre's and throws itsef into its own genre all at the same time. It is a wild west shooter in the middle of an alien planet, which is as awesome as it sounds! You get to create your own character (not in design, but in story) by making choices as to where you came from, how you were raised or brought up, and what you did before you arrived at this point in the game which all give you statistics that make you who you are in the game. The art style in this game is one of the aspects that I really enjoyed. It goes from a top down look as you are playing and moving around to cut scene's as you are moving thru different locations and traveling and even brings up characters and dialogues with you and other characters right on the screen as you are playing (just like any good rpg should). The fighting is where I really enjoy the playstyle of the game. It is similar to a top down double stick shooter, with some differences. You don't just point and shoot as you would in most double stick shooters, you actually aim and can see exactly where the reticle is pointed and what you will hit when you pull the trigger. When you finally get that shot off and stop what you are aiming at it really feels satisfying! 0:00 - Intro 1:15 - Game Menu 2:32 - It Begins!
