Bach: Allemande from French Suite No. 4 in E flat Major, BWV 815 Murray Perahia, pianist Johann Sebastian Bach (1685 – 1750) was a German composer and musician of the Baroque period. The allemande is French for German Dance and is one of the most popular instrumental dance styles of the Baroque. This Allemande features imitation between the voices and constantly moving musical lines. This piece’s main challenge is playing with proper voicing and knowing what notes to bring out of the moving musical lines.
