©FDNY Response Videos 2023 *Exclusive* MA: Explosion at Harvard University / Explosion on Tape / by Nick / HARVARD UNIVERSITY, Massachusetts - At 3:51pm Thursday the cambridge police department in conjunction with the Harvard police department responded to reports of a suspicious package in the Harvard University Science Center Plaza in front of their Science center at 1 Oxford Street. Police quickly secured the area and awaited the arrival of the bomb squad. The bomb squad utilized a portable x-ray to check the contents of the bag and discovered multiple suspicious objects. The decision was made to do a controlled detonation of the bag in order to be safe. At 5:33pm the bomb squad detonated the bag. It was determined that the bag contained fireworks, a portable safe and work tools. The Scene was declared safe at 6:20pm.
