EU Pressure on ITALY to Avoid BRICS: What's going on

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has taken a pragmatic approach towards BRICS and the European Union as a G7 members. Her invitation to three BRICS countries, Brazil, India and UAE aligns with Italy's broader objective of fostering international cooperation and addressing global challenges through inclusive dialogue. The 2024 G7 Summit, held in Apulia, Italy, saw Meloni inviting leaders from several developing countries, including India, Algeria, Brazil, Jordan, Kenya, Mauritania, Tunisia, Turkey, and the UAE, among others. This inclusion highlights her commitment to bringing diverse perspectives to G7 table and recognizing the significant roles these countries play in the global economy and politics. While it may seem like she intended to sway these nations away from BRICS, her true aim is to challenge the EU's stance and engage with the Global South in a predominantly Western setting, namely G7.
