Residents of Beirut celebrate reports that leading Western news agencies and publications are dispelling reports that a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah will soon be signed. Reuters and Axios, followed by many others, are reporting that a US-brokered ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon will be announced in the next few hours: “Israel’s security cabinet, led by Prime Minister Netanyahu, is expected to meet tomorrow to approve a ceasefire agreement with Lebanon/Hezbollah.” Note that the previously announced American proposal includes the withdrawal of Israeli troops from southern Lebanon and the deployment of Lebanese soldiers there for 60 days. Five countries will control the deal, and the United States will head the supervisory committee. Hezbollah, like the office of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, has not yet officially confirmed news agency reports about the ceasefire. Source: Lord Of War
