Horting fencing is an modern sport of Ukraine, a full contact martial art based on the historical traditions of the Zaporozhian Cossacks applied fencing, combining saber fencing with elements of hand-to-hand combat. The main differences between Horting fencing and applied combat fencing are sport rules that define the arsenal of acceptable techniques, hit locations, requirements for equipment and parameters of sports weapons. A fencer-athlete faces the following tasks: 1. To follow the rules. 2. Do not let yourself be hit. 3. To hit the opponent (within the rules).
