Dragonfly, written and performed by Miranda Rondeau, is available on the “FiveSongs“ CD: Video produced and presented by the LuvAmp project, “Dragonfly“ is a presentation of Miranda Rondeau's unique expression with the frame drum and a tribute to the rich history, tradition, and lineage of women frame drum players. Her chanting is a spontaneous form of intuitive intoning that transcends literal language, bypasses the intellect, is devotional and invoking in nature. Dragonfly available @ Miranda says, “Dragonfly is a symbol of transformation, a song of remembrance, the language of the heart..... ...Finding the frame drum has been a Divine HOMECOMING. It is the sound of my ancient heart, the HeartBeat of the Mother. It is the sound of the rhythms of Life, of seasons and cycles. It is the Sun, the Moon, the Earth, the Cosmic Egg. It is the first sound we ever hear in our Mothers WOMB, our sacred time of ONENESS. It is my tool of Remembrance, of devotion, of transmission, of transportation, and inner expression. It is my tool of creating sacred space, of invoking, of cleansing, of celebrating, communicating and activating. It is my form of prayer.“ - Miranda Rondeau Miranda Rondeau's Music Page __________________________________ DRAGONFLY RECORDING: Miranda Rondeau: Composer, frame Drum, vocals, percussion Tony Moss: Additional vocal Joshua Meltzer: Producer DRAGONFLY VIDEO: Producer: Midori Takata Executive Producer: Tony Moss Director: Herbert Bennett & Dani Tull Editor: Herbert Bennett Art Designer: Dani Tull Creative Director: Tony Moss Creative Consultant: Miranda Rondeau Director of Photography: Justin Janowitz Lighting Director: Ruben Diaz RED camera: Mike Curtis VFX Supervisor: Mike Curtis VFX Designer: Abhi Thati Time lapse photograpy: Nao Tharp 1st AC: Nao Tharp ARCHIVAL photograph/images: Special thanks to Layne Redmond! In ancient times of the Mediterranean area, the predominant players were women. They were priestesses responsible for the religious functions of the community. It was used to create sacred space, communal bonding, rituals, rites of passage and to celebrate the cycles and seasons of life. It was used to invoke, induce trance and alter consciousness. You can learn more about the history from Layne Redmonds book “When the Drummers Were Women.“ “An Excerpt on the History of the Frame Drum“ You can watch other women frame drummers here Visit the “Women Frame Drumming facebook group page .:.
