The guanaco is a South American mammal that belongs to the camel family. They are found mainly in the Andes Mountains and Patagonia region, and are well-adapted to living in harsh, arid environments. Guanacos have a slender build with long, slender legs that are ideal for running and jumping. They have a thick, woolly coat that can be various shades of brown, grey or reddish-brown. Their fur is so soft and warm that it is highly valued for clothing and textiles. These animals are herbivorous, meaning they mainly eat grasses and other plants. They are also social creatures and typically live in herds, ranging from a few individuals to several hundred. Guanacos are known for their excellent eyesight and can spot predators from long distances.
