An international marathon was held on Sunday in Pyongyang, capital of Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), with over 1,000 foreigners among the runners. Foreigners have been allowed to take part in the event since 2014. The race was mounted to commemorate the upcoming birthday on Friday of Kim Il-sung, the late grandfather of the current leader Kim Jong-un.
