Thanks to MTV, I was a fan of Split Enz in the last few years of their existence as a band. When I heard that Neil Finn had launched a new band, I knew it would be good, and when I first heard Crowded House (“Mean To Me“ was the first song I heard) on the radio, I knew he delivered on that promise. This song is the opening track of their second album, Temple of Low Men. Musically much darker and more complex than their debut album, it still gripped me as much as their earlier work had. I no longer have my copy of their debut album, but I picked this one up on the last record digging adventure I went on before the COVID shutdowns began. I hope you enjoy this one that is somewhat different than what I usually play, but is definitely something I enjoy listening to! Like it? Subscribe!
