A CME hit Earth's magnetic field on April 19th at approximately 05:00 UT. The Bz component of the interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) has been predominantly pointing south the past several hours. A minor (G1) geomagnetic storm is now in progress. High latitude sky watchers should be alert for auroras.
