“Swan Lake” is one of the world’s most famous ballets, composed by Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky in the 1870s. Director Zhang Yimou moved the ballet onto a stage appearing to be on the surface of the West Lake, creating a unique aquatic ballet show. The cultural performance, “Hangzhou, A Living Poem”, which featured a lavish symphony concert and gala on water, was staged on the city’s iconic West Lake.
