Recently a Victoria cyclist was ticketed for speeding in a school zone. Many people questioned how police could issue such a ticket. Many parts of BC's Motor Vehicle Act apply to bicycles in the same way they apply to cars. This helps keep other cyclists and pedestrians safe from cyclists, like the law is intended to keep cyclists safe from cars.
