| At approximately 4am, a man was allegedly shoplifting from a 7-11 on the 7900 block of Santa Monica Bvld in West Hollywood. A concerned citizen saw the man stealing and offered to pay for the items. The suspect then allegedly became upset, produced an axe, and attacked the victim striking him repeatedly in the head before fleeing north on Hayworth. The victim was transported to Cedars Sinai for treatment. Sheriff’s deputies then responded to an empty apartment on Orange Grove, just north of Santa Monica Blvd and deployed a flash-bang grenade and a K9, however the suspect was not located. The suspect is described as a black male, average build. (Photo at end of video.) The suspect is considered to be armed and dangerous. If spotted, call 911.
