A quick tutorial on one of my favourite spins that I like to call 'A big festival spin!' When executed correctly these spins can bring a nice burst of energy to a dance. I've loved incorporating them into my lead routines in Riverdance to help me stay true to my style. They can feel a little awkward at first if you haven't tried them before but I hope this breakdown helps with the fluidity of your Festival style spins! Things to think about: - Your first step into the spin is strong & full of purpose. - There's a slight hop off the back foot into the spin. - The knee of your spinning leg hits just above hip height before wrapping around the body. - Connect with the floor. - You want your spin to flow as one movement. Why not try these to Slip Jig & Reel music to experiment with different speeds & energies! Good luck dancers. I look forward to seeing you in my next video!
