Played a reproduction of an 1840s minstrel banjo. Each of the two songs here is known by two titles. “Jaw Bone/Pee Dee“ is an early negro minstrel tune, while “McLeod’s Reel“ is a Scottish fiddle tune. “McLeod“ became “Uncle Joe“ with the addition of a set of southern Appalachian lyrics.
