It is pitted with cascades, mudslides and oncoming traffic! Prior to 2008, it saw around 300 deaths per year. It was built by Paraguayan prisoners and is the preferred route of fearless truck drivers - there is a safer road but the hazard pay is much greater on the Death Road!
