Among the many hit songs by the the Everly Brothers, “Love Hurts“ is a track from their first album 'A Date with The Everly Brothers' in 1960. It was never released as a single. The song was composed by American husband and wife country music and pop songwriting team Felice and Boudleaux Bryant and has since been covered by other well-known artists. The Everlys are known for steel-string guitar and close harmony singing, and in the late 1950's, were key to the rock and roll youth movement. They also influenced many close harmony singing rock groups of the 1960's as well. In 1986, The Everly Brothers were among the first 10 artists inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They were awarded the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Vocal Group Hall of Fame, and have been recognized by the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. The brothers had 35 Billboard Top-100 singles, 26 in the top 40, and hold the record for the most Top 100 singles by any duo. They were very poplar and scored well in the UK.
