The Ostrich Inn in Colnbrook, Slough, has stood as a welcoming coaching inn for centuries, now serving as an overnight stop for travellers before they head off to the (equally haunted) Heathrow Airport. But there’s also a murderous story attached to the Ostrich Inn, which may have served as the inspiration for the Sweeney Todd story that first appeared in Penny Dreadfuls in the 19th Century. Whether this story is actually true or not, seems not to matter - as regardless of whether you believe in the Jarmans, the ghostly residents of this old pub are not afraid of making themselves known.
