Our timetable often includes recovery time: leeway to make up for any delays. But what do you do with it if you don't have a delay? In this video I show twice how exciting it is to switch off the power very prematurely and let the train coast for a long period of time. Will we still arrive on time? To refine this technique, I have measured running and coasting times of all train types for years. I put this in a note on my phone that I put in front of me. Of course you know this from my headcam films on Train Driver's POV, there you kept asking what information I had on that phone. It enabled me to drive into a station accurate to the second.
