- In this watercolor tutorial I demonstrate how to sketch and paint simple watercolor flowers and how to use Negative Painting technique to add dimension to your backgrounds. Negative painting technique is one of my favourite watercolor techniques and if you want to learn more feel free to check out my other videos in this category. #watercolortutorial #watercolorpainting #negativepainting #watercolortutorial #watercolortechnique #painting #paintingtutorial Art supplies: Cold pressed Watercolor paper, 100 % cotton, 300 gsm (I'm using one from Hahnemühle) . It's important to use a thick good quality paper as this technique we are going to work in many layer hence we need a good quality paper that can handle it. I always recommend a cotton paper for this purpose. Watercolor paint: - Ultramarine blue (for flowers) - Daniel Smith - Green Gold - Daniel Smith - May green- Schmincke - Prussian Green - Daniel Smith - Hookers green - Daniel Smith - Burnt Siennna (to darken the Ultramarine blue) - Daniel Smith Brushes: - Synthetic round brushes, a smaller and larger one depending on the size of your paper. - A larger mop brush to cover bigger areas of paint Other: - Mechanical pencil and eraser for sketching - Masking tape - Hairdryer or Heating tool for drying layers ( I'm using 'Heat It' Craft tool) Find me on Instagram: Check out my other videos:
