Leonid & Friends concert September 3, 2023, in Howard, WI, at the Howard Commons Activity Complex Grand Opening Celebration. This was a somewhat rare opportunity to see the band for free. Leonid & Friends comprises the finest musicians in Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, and Belarus. Their set list continues to be dominated by Chicago tunes but they sprinkle in other artists in their performances. “My Old School“ is a single drawn from Steely Dan’s 1973 album Countdown to Ecstasy. It reached number 63 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. The song’s lyrics tell the story of a May 1969 drug bust at Bard College in Dutchess County, New York, referred to in the lyrics by its location, Annandale.
